Support our Work
The Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain is the leading body supporting scholarship in, disseminating knowledge about and raising the profile of architectural history. As a charity, we rely entirely on your support to achieve these goals. We welcome everyone with an interest in the built environment to join our diverse network of academics, professionals and enthusiasts, with all the benefits that membership brings. In addition, we have been able to extend our activities significantly through the generosity of those members who have made donations or left bequests to the Society, and are enormously grateful to all those considering making a gift of any size.
Individual Memberships
If you would like to join us, you will receive all the benefits of membership, from exclusive events to world-leading publications, you will support our activities around education, scholarship and advocacy, and you will become part of a broad and inclusive network of people with a passion for the built environment, in whatever form it takes. Those joining from October will receive a membership lasting to December in the following year, and are welcome to join the AGM in November.
Institutional Memberships
We currently have over 250 institutional members/subscribers across the world, with access to all our resources, including the world-leading journal Architectural History . All institutional memberships are managed by Cambridge University Press.
Donations and Bequests
As an independent charity, donations and legacies have played an indispensable part in allowing us to support academic scholarship and provide educational opportunities, whether through awards and grants or events and publications. Donations of any size are hugely appreciated – if you are considering making a donation or leaving a gift in your will, please email the Secretary; we would love to hear from you.
