ADH 2020: Shortlist Interview - Louise Campbell

In the lead up to the Annual Lecture and Awards Ceremony, our President, Neil Jackson, interviews the authors shortlisted for the Alice Davis Hitchcock Medallion. In this interview, Neil is joined by Dr Louise Campbell to discuss Studio Lives.

Dr Campbell reflects:  ‘Studios for artists offer architects a unique opportunity for shaping creative spaces. However, they have often become a battleground between the ideas of the designer and the user. My book explores the literary, architectural, professional and personal significance of the studio and underlines the formative role which the artist-client played there. I am delighted that Studio Lives has been shortlisted for the Alice Davis Hitchcock Medallion, and hope that this nomination, the topic of the book and its elegant design will capture the attention of the general reader as well as architects, artists and architectural historians.’
